4-Day Tumpak Sewu, Bromo, and Ijen Tour from Yogyakarta
Kick off your East Java adventure with a 4-day journey to Tumpak Sewu, Mount Bromo, and Mount Ijen—starting right from Yogyakarta. We’ll pick you up wherever you are: your hotel, the train station, the airport, or anywhere in town. Morning person or late riser, you pick the departure time that suits you.
Your journey starts with an easy trip from Yogyakarta towards East Java. Sit back and get comfortable—our friendly, English-speaking driver knows every twist and turn, so you’re in good hands all the way.
The first stop? Pronojiwo, a quiet spot near Tumpak Sewu. You’ll rest here for the night, gearing up for your first big adventure the next morning of the second day. Tumpak Sewu Waterfall is breathtaking—seriously, it’s one of Indonesia’s natural showstoppers, tumbling dramatically against the mighty slopes of Mount Semeru.
After soaking up the view, you’ll move on to Cemoro Lawang, a village perched near Mount Bromo. Settle in for the night; you’ll need an early start to catch the sunrise. On day three, hop in a rugged 4x4 for a bumpy, exciting ride up to a prime sunrise spot—watch Mount Bromo glow in the first morning light. Then you’ll rumble across the sea sands, pass by the ancient Luhur Poten Temple, and climb the stairs right up to the Bromo crater rim. There’s plenty of adventure packed in, but we’ve got breakfast waiting for you back at your hotel. After you check out, it’s off to Bondowoso for a well-earned rest before tackling Mount Ijen.
On your final day, you’ll rise before the sun and meet your local guide at Paltuding basecamp. From there, it’s a steady trek to the top of Mount Ijen. Catch a sunrise that lights up the sky and gaze down at the surreal, turquoise crater lake. You’ll see sulfur miners hard at work, adding a whole new perspective to the landscape. Once you’ve taken it all in, we’ll get you back to Paltuding. From there, it’s straight to Ketapang Harbor, where your ferry to Bali is ready and waiting. We’ll sort out your ferry tickets, say goodbye, and leave you to your next adventure.
